2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (2-HEA)
2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (2-HEA) is a raw material component used in the manufacture of polymers. It is an ester of acrylic acid. 2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (2-HEA) is a monofunctional methacrylate monomer having a branching hydrophobic moiety and the typical strong reactivity of methacrylates. 2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (2-HEA) is a monomer that can be used to make homopolymers and copolymers. (meth)acrylic acid and its salts, amides, and esters, as well as methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleic esters, butadiene, and other monomers, can be used to make 2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (2-HEA) copolymers.
Because it rapidly conducts addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic chemicals, 2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (2-HEA) is also a particularly valuable feedstock for chemical syntheses.

Storage & Handling:
2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (2-HEA) must always be stored under air, never under inert gases, to avoid polymerization. For the stabilizer to work properly, it needs to be in the presence of oxygen. It must contain a stabilizer and be stored at a temperature below 35°C. Under these circumstances, one year of storage stability can be predicted upon delivery.
Safety
A Safety Data Sheet has been compiled for 2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (HEA) that contains up-to-date information on questions relevant to safety.
Packaging:
2-HEA can be purchased in IBC or drums.
